Scenery Files
Nashville, Tennessee
- Introduction -
This archive contains a scenery file for the Nashville, Tennessee
area. In addition to providing "ground" scenery, this archive also
contains scattered cloud coverage (courtesy of SCTCLD.ZIP, available
on CompuServe and on Internet) which can be controlled using MENU 3
(Environment), OPTION B (Clouds).
Two "levels" of clouds are provided, the first at 12,000 FT MSL and
the second at 20,000 FT MSL. To change the number of clouds showing,
simply set teh Level 1 and Level 2 Cloud Cover in the CLOUDS menu to
any number from 1/8 to 6/8. Setting "clear" turns off the clouds, and
setting any number higher that 6/8 results in no additional clouds
being drawn (only 6 groups of clouds are present). Note that you should
set the Level 1 and Level 2 Cloud Altitudes to zero, otherwise FS4
will display it's *own* scattered clouds, in addition to the ones present
on the scenery file.
Note that the clouds take advantage of the "repeating scenery" effect,
so even if you fly outside the bounds of the scenery file, clouds will
continue to be displayed until a new scenery file is loaded.
In addition, and adventure file is included for those of you with AAF.
This adventure file was generated using Approach Control v2.0 (also on
CompuServe and Internet) and it simulates airport approach control for
Indianapolis International. See the ADVFILE.DOC file for details.
- Scenery Coverage -
This archive contains both static and dynamic detailing for the airports
listed below. All files were designed to be overlaid on subLOGIC Scenery
Disk 9**.
City Airports North East
------------ -------- ----- -----
Nashville Nashville International 14718 17039
John C. Tune 14740 16973
Smyrna Smyrna 14673 17096
- Memory Requirements -
You must allocate at least 15000 bytes for dynamic scenery and 40000 bytes
for static scenery in order to load the scenery files.
- Instrument Approaches -
The following instrument approaches are supported by my scenery files.
All approaches were created according to NOAA US Terminal Procedures,
and are rendered as accurately as possible.
Airport Approach Runway Frequency LOM Freq
------- -------- ------ --------- --------
John C. Tune LOC 19 110.30
Nashville Intl ILS 2L 109.90 304

Notes: (1) Frequency changed to prevent frequency conflicts
ILS = Instrument Landing System
LOC = Localizer
LOM = Locator (NDB) at Outer Marker
- General Scenery Information -
The buildings in downtown Nashville are my own interpretation, and don't
correspond to any "real-world" structures. I added detailing to the
Cumberland River on the east side of the city, and you will see several
sailboats in J. Percy Priest Lake, as well as a couple of planes flying
over the surface of the water.
The mode file included will place you in position for takeoff on runway
2L at Nashville INternational.
Happy flying!
